Carlisle Institute operates as an independent and nonpartisan nonprofit organization. It has a flexible and responsive governance structure that enables its members to meet its strategic and operational objectives efficiently and effectively. Carlisle Institute's governance structure includes a board of directors and an advisory council, the latter consisting of distinguished leaders in the academic, business, government and nonprofit sectors. Peter D. Lindfield, former president and chief executive officer of Balanced Viewpoint, serves as chairman of the board and chief executive officer.
